Personal Style

Sometimes you put an outfit together that is so perfectly your style that you surprise yourself. This is one of those outfits! As a little girl I was always drawn to dresses with sequins, jackets and fur, and shoes that clicked when you walk! I grew up in the 90s. I was the only first grader with a full collection of holiday broaches, which my mother pinned on my coordinating outfits with each appropriate season. I had broaches of all shapes and colors! Silver bells for Christmas, black cats for Halloween, and bunnies for Easter...over the top of course, gaudy... you bet! Haha! Can you blame me? I grew up with a mother who never left the house without a full face of makeup and hair fresh out of hot rollers! Glam seemed to be a normal part of her daily routine.
As I got older and more opinionated in my attire I developed a personal style that was influenced by famous leading ladies of the past. As a middle schooler I discovered Audrey Hepburn and it was all all over from there! Audrey Hepburn was the empitamy of all things stylish and classy! The opening credits to Breakfast at Tiffany's would forever shape and influence my personal style. It wasn't just her outfits that grabbed my attention. No no, it was way more then that. She had something unique and authentic. It was way beyond "fashion". She had STYLE! You see style is not something that can be bought, taught, or mimicked. Style is a genuine representation of who you are regardless of budget or surrounding. I believe Rachel Zoe said it best "style is a way to say who you are without having to speak". I find personal style hard to put into words anyway! It's more of a feeling that I can't describe but when I am piecing a look together I just know! Personal style should fit like a glove! Whether that glove is faux fur, trimmed, or covered in broaches, it is uniquely mine!
Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today. It feels so good to be blogging again! I have been absent on my blog and social media for the past 2 weeks while I recovered from surgery. I had my gallbladder removed after a very painful struggle to get a diagnosis. I am well on my way to recovery and health. Prayer is powerful and God is so faithful! Thanks for your patience while I took time to recover! Now I am ready for some festive Christmas fun in the next couple of weeks! December is my favorite month after all! Don't forget to subscribe and leave comments down below! I would love to chat with y'all!
