Hero Piece: The Leopard Moto Jacket
I know I know...I am obsessed with this faux fur jacket too! I have had this glorious statement jacket tucked away in my closet, still in its garment bag from BCBG, with the tags on it for years. I can attribute this oversight to Louisiana's pitiful version of fall and winter. The truth is we only get so many days to wear winter attire in the south. Year after year I have set this jacket out and not gotten around to wearing it...until now! I am beyond excited to finally style it and take it for a spin in the rose garden!
This jacket is what I like to call a " Hero Piece". What is a Hero Piece? So glad you asked! A Hero Piece is stand alone item in you wardrobe that is so special in design, fit, and nature that it literally makes the entire outfit! It is the show stopping feature of your entire look! A Hero Piece can come in many shapes and forms, but at it's core, it is an item that stands out and elevates your look to that next level. You don't have to be a fashion guru to recognize a Hero Piece. As I said, it can come in many different shapes and forms. For example, you may be a minimalist dresser but love an good statement shoe. It can also be an accessory like a bold piece of jewelry or a great bag! I tend to purchase Hero Pieces that are not necessarily compatible with the climate in Louisiana, making their sightings few and far between. Well in the fall and winter anyway. As for spring and summer, my favorite Hero Pieces are usually a uber feminine dress or skirt, a great hat and basically anything bold and floral! I highly encourage you to take a look at your wardrobe and add a few Hero Pieces of your own! Don't be afraid of standing out in the crowd! I don't think for one second that the Peacock worries about upstaging the ducks at the zoo! Don't be afraid to Peacock a little if you will! HaHa! Figure out what items stand out to you and fully embrace them!
Now, back to this jacket! My favorite feature on this gorgeous jacket other than the stunning faux animal print is the ribbed panels on the sides and arms. This gives the jacket a comfortable easy fit that I just adore! I must go on record by saying I love the look of a faux fur item. I am a HUGE animal lover and do not, under any circumstance, wear real fur...thats a whole other post in itself! I just needed to throw that disclaimer out there! Since this jacket is such a statement I wanted to keep the rest of the look simple. I paired a plain white long sleeve top and my favorite dark wash skinny jeans with my new favorite over the knee boots. These boots are amazing and give a nod to a very highend pair of boots on the market right now! These babies were under $50 from my favorite Boutique, Virgo Boutique!
