Personal Style: Who Inspires Me
Spring 2017 is right around the corner and I have been dreaming of spring trends! Every year for as long as I can recall I have met each changing season with a new wardrobing inspiration! At the heart of it all is a girl who loves feminine details, ladylike elements, and will make any event an excuse to dress up! Through the years I have worn many eccentric pieces in the name of style! What you need to know about me is that when I settle on a style inspiration or style idea, I embody it 100%! While my overall personal style concept does not change with the season, I do allow myself to choose a particular staple for each season! I do not recommend chasing trends. Thats not to say that I never wear trendier items, but I try to incorporate them seamlessly into my own personal style. At the end of the day if a trend is not working for me I simply won't wear it. It really comes down to knowing my body shape, skin tone, and hair color. There are certain styles that simply won't work on me. However, over the years I have found what does work for me. There is no shame in finding what works and wearing it unapologetically! This is how you always remain a classic!
My Spring 2017 will be filled with floral prints, vintage eyewear, lots and lots of skirts and soft feminine fabrics. Hats are always a must as well as espadrilles and silk neck scarves! For as long as I can remember I have drawn inspiration from style icons of the past! Audrey Hepburn, Bridget Bardot, Grace Kelly, and Jackie O helped shaped my idea of glamour style and class. Current style inspo includes Reese Witherspoon, Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman (oh that polkadot dress and white hat, her oversized shorts and belts, high waisted jeans and blazers...just to name a few) Kate Middleton, Emma Stone in La La Land, Jamie King as Lemon Breeland in Heart of Dixie! There is something about each of these ladies styles that I find so inspiring! Some are famous Hollywood or french stars of the past and some are fictional characters all together! Now on to this outfit! As I said earlier, I live for a great floral piece! So this top was a major find and a steal at just 20$ from H&M! I love the mix of colors it offers! Those gorgeous pink flowers and green leaves set on the dark green background! So pretty! I paired this beautiful top with my black faux leather leggings and nine west pumps!
These airings are currently one of my favorite pieces! This is a great example of marrying a trendier element with a classic look! I love the medallion shape of the earring paired with the tassel details! Tassels are a huge trend for spring 2017! As I said earlier, when I wear a trend it has to make sense with the rest of my personal style! I think these earrings add a beautiful element to this look!
Since we are still having chilly days in the south I also wore my favorite new pink coat! Ah! I am in love with this coat! It was also a great H&M find! To finish off the look I added my blush Rebecca Minkoff purse and new favorite vintage inspired sunnies!
