The Girl in the Pink Dress

I have had an on-again-off-again relationship with the color pink for as long as I can remember. My mom said as a very young child I was drawn to sequins, rhinestones, feathers and anything gaudy! I have always had a very definite point of view on fashion even as a 3 year old! That being said the color pink has not always been my hue of choice. I can actually recall a time in primary school when I wouldn't be caught dead in anything pink or frilly. I was defiantly not a tomboy. I lived in a dance studio and loved every jeweled studded sequin covered garment I was given to perform in! I started dancing at 3 and was surrounded by eccentric people music and fashion! Dolly Parton was my hero! I loved to watch her perform! She literally sparked like a Christmas ornament! She stood out wherever she went and was not afraid to shine! Sparkle seemed to be her signature color! I now realize what I loved about Dolly besides her amazing wardrobe, wigs and full glam makeup was her confidence! Her personality shines through her outfits. Her outward appearance simply reflects her inward sparkle!
While my taste has evolved through the years, I have not lost my love of sparkles, but I feel like I sparkle in a different way now! My power color has defiantly become pink! When I wear pink I feel like my personally really comes alive! It sparkles if you will! Pink makes me feel confident feminine and truly myself! Now don't get me wrong, I love wearing other colors, but I feel truly myself in a nice shade of pink! What's your power color? Do you love bashful blues, vibrant yellows, ravishing red, or do you love to sparkle like Dolly?! At the end of the day, you have to wear what makes you feel confident! Confidence after all is the best color for everyone!
This dress is amazing! I got it at a local boutique called Virgo Boutique! As soon as I laid eyes on this gorgeous dress I knew I needed to have a pink floral moment in it! I love the fit and flare empire waist and of course the print. The black and gray floral print really breaks up the pink nicely I think! For shoes, I wore my favorite white flatforms! These are the perfect summer sandal and were a steal at only $23! My staple wide brim boater hat from American Eagle added such a fun flirty touch to this outfit! I finished this look off with my favorite YSL lipstick, winged liner and my oversized white sunnies! I felt so girly and sparkly in this outfit!
Thank you so much for stopping by the blog. It has been a rough week for my home state of Louisiana due to major flooding and over all devastation. It has been very challenging seeing friends and family struggle to pick up the pieces of their destroyed homes. We are a very strong and resilient state full of love, compassion and hospitality. Together we will rebuild stronger! Thank you for your patience while I have been focusing on my friends and family. I have some very exciting things planned for the blog over the next two months so stay tuned!
