This outfit was so FUN!! I am a 90s kids all the way! I loved everything about my childhood in the 90's, especially the unique fashion trends! I am so glad to see some of my favorite pieces from the decade making a serious comeback! I am feeling so nostalgic! I may need to break out my bop-it and watch some Nickelodeon!
In my opinion the key to wearing any trend is to incorporate one or two statement pieces into your look at a time. I LOVE the 90's, however I don't want to look like Michelle Tanner! By mixing classic elements of my own personal style with one or two trendy items you can make a trend your own!
With all that being said, I am so excited about my new leather back pack purse! Let's call it a purse-sack...haha! I was thrilled to find this cognac quilted faux leather bag on a serious sale! I paid just $11...crazy right! I have been on the hunt for a cute purse-sack since the winter. I tend to shop for bargains on trendy pieces and splurge on quality timeless pieces. Now on occasion I can be swooned by a neon pink mini bag by Rebecca Minkoff and literally have to have it asap! For the most part I don't splurge on trends.
With this outfit I wanted to be comfortable but still put together. Let's start from the top. I NEVER wear my bangs pulled back...ever! But on this particular day it was the only thing my hair would do. So I give you my Primary School go-to hair style! And just like that, the 90's trend needed to happen with my outfit too! I threw on my new H&M grey oversized sweater and my favorite thin leopard print scarf. My distressed denim shorts are from American Eagle and have become a part of my summer uniform. I love how tattered they are. I grabbed my brown leather sandals and my 90's kid purse-sack and headed out the door!
