70's Chic: The Flare, Knit, and Velvet Edit

To say that my style leans towards retro inspired looks would be the understatement of the year! I don't just lean in that direction, I feel that part of me is lost there as well! Growing up I was obsessed with Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot and Grace Kelly, and their signature styles paved the way for my love of retro inspired styling! My personal style floats organically through 50's diner chic, 60's european mod, and 70's street style! There is something about a set of pearls, a full skirt, and lady like knits that we see in vintage photos from the 50's that makes my heart melt! If I were being 100% honest though, I would say that 60's styling has influenced my personal style the most. I love everything about those mod looks! Give me all the shift dresses, Go-Go boots ( as my mom calls them) and oversized sunnies! I live for the prints, the necklines, the hemlines and the hats, we can't forget the hats! Which brings me to the 70's! I can't help but dabble in that 70's street chic style! I love the playful shapes of the 70's! Flare jeans, vintage cars, platform sandals, velvet touches and far out attitudes! You can definately expect to see me styling more 70's inspired dresses this summer, paired with my favorite sky high platforms!

Check out this round up of some of my favorite style icons and their signature styles! Some of which are identical to the styles of today! These trend setting ladies are still leaders in our ever evolving fashion world!
